We’re a family-owned and operated commercial and industrial mechanical contractor based in Fenton, Michigan. Founder and President, Jim Rolls, has always been mechanically inclined. His family-owned Rolls Battery and Electric in Royal Oak, MI. After school or during the weekends, you could always find Jim in the shop taking things apart and seeing how they perform. Jim went to vocational trade school at 16 and completed the 2-year program early. In 1979, before graduating from High School, Jim took his first HVACR job at a refrigeration company in metro Detroit. He worked for free, to get experience and break into the trade. After this humble beginning, Jim was given a paid position with that company and proved he was a natural. For over 10 years Jim worked as a pipe fitter and continued to expand his knowledge and love for the trade. Jim has worked on hundreds of memorable new projects and retrofit HVACR jobs across the state.

In 1994, Jim Rolls founded Rolls Mechanical. Jim started off small with one qualified man, still employed today, and they strive to be the industry leader. He wanted to make a living doing what he loved and having fun doing it. “I feel like my career has never been a job. It is a true passion. I am deeply passionate about the trade.” Having over 45+ years of experience in mechanical services, along with our expert employees that we consider family, we have many years of combined experience in HVACR service. We have a team of highly skilled professionals spread over multiple divisions: Refrigeration, Construction, Controls, Pipe Fitting & Plumbing, HVACR Service, and Ammonia Refrigeration Construction & Service.

Our expertise is not limited to Michigan- we are proudly licensed in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Illinois, and Wisconsin.

In 2016, our second generation of family started full-time at Rolls Mechanical, when Karly Rolls joined the staff. Karly graduated from the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor, then completed her associate degree in the applied science of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology at Mott Community College. She is currently finishing her graduate MBA- Analytics, Technology & Innovation at Cleary University. In addition, Karly has just started her HVACR Engineering Technology and Energy Management degree at Ferris State University.
