- Lower the temperature on your water heater. Try turning it down to 120 degrees or less. If you’re leaving for a trip and no one needs hot water, turn it down to its lowest setting. Some units may have a vacation mode.
- Install low-flow fixtures. A lot of older faucets and shower heads use way more water than necessary. New fixtures allow you to conserve water without having to compromise water pressure.
